Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Your faith and your data are sacred. This policy explains what WiseFaith collects and how we use it.
What we collect
- Account info — your name, email, and the profile you create.
- Content you create — posts, prayers, testimonies, journal entries, highlights, notes, and messages.
- Conversations with Sage — if you leave memory on (see below), your chats with our AI companion are saved to your account.
- Approximate location (optional) — only if you turn on "Believers near you" or open "Churches near you." It is rounded to about 1 km and is never shared as your exact position.
- Usage — basic activity needed to run features (reading progress, streaks, notifications).
How we use it
- To provide and improve the app's features.
- To deliver notifications you've asked for.
- To keep the community safe (reviewing reports, enforcing our Terms).
Sage (AI) & memory
When you ask Sage something, your message — along with your first name, your chosen tradition (if set), and, if memory is enabled, a short summary of your past conversations — is sent to our AI provider (Google, via the Gemini API) to generate a response. Sage's memory lets it support you over time, like a pastor who remembers your story.
- Memory is on by default but fully optional. You can turn it off or erase everything anytime in Privacy & Safety → "Let Sage remember me" / "Clear Sage's memory."
- We do not use your private journal, messages, or Sage conversations to train AI models.
Location & nearby features
"Believers near you" and "Churches near you" are opt-in. Your approximate (rounded) location is used to show nearby believers who have also opted in, and to look up nearby churches via Google's Places service. You can turn location sharing off anytime in Privacy & Safety.
What we never do
- We never sell or rent your personal data.
- We never show advertising.
- We never share your private prayers, journal, or Sage conversations — those are visible only to you.
Third parties
We rely on Supabase (secure database, authentication, storage), Google (the Gemini AI that powers Sage, and Places for nearby churches), and Apple Push Notification service (to deliver notifications). They process data only to provide these features.
Your choices
- Edit or delete your content anytime.
- Turn Sage's memory off or clear it; turn location sharing off.
- Block or report other users.
- Delete your account anytime in the app (More → "Delete my account"), which permanently removes your data.
Data security
Data is stored with our backend provider (Supabase) using industry-standard security and row-level access controls that keep your private content visible only to you.
Children
WiseFaith is not directed to children under 13.
